Guildford, UK. The new XPress Grill by Garland from Manitowoc Foodservice epitomises state of the art grilling technology. After undergoing a complete redesign, the XPress Grill is the next generation in two-sided cooking; with the upper and lower grill plates able to cook both sides of the food simultaneously; all with the simple press of a button. Reducing cook times by up to 50% compared to conventional flat grills.
Available in 12” single platen; 24” single or double platen and 36” single, double or triple platen models, the new smart dual-surface Garland XPress Grill range features an increased 5cm cook height, to give operators extensive menu flexibility. Outlets can now increase production and product consistency while halving cook times and reducing labour costs, on an extensive variety of products; without having to compromise cooking quality and results.
Thanks to new advanced temperature controls complete with smart anticipation, food is cooked to the appropriate core temperature each time, eliminating the problem of over or under cooked product. Each grill lane is equipped with five independently controlled temperature sensors, allowing for hyper accurate temperature control. Couple this with rapid heat recovery and rapid pre-heat features, means the grill can react quickly to the peaks and troughs of different service times. The XPress Grill provides quick, controlled cooking – perfect for a whole host of varying menu concepts and their requirements.
Boasting energy efficiencies increases in the region of 20% compared to previous models, each grill lane can be independently operated at their own unique set temperature for menu flexibility or turned off for energy savings when not required. This gives operators freedom to match their energy spending to the required capacity at varying times of the day. This not only creates annual savings on the equipment and HVAC, but it also improves the kitchen environment for staff by reducing unnecessary excess heat emitted from the grill.
Designed for ultimate ease of use, the Garland XPress Grill features a new easyTouch full colour display touchscreen with simple and intuitive icon based controls, enabling any member of staff to operate the XPress Grill regardless of skill or language level. Pre-set menus can be easily programmed and preloaded onto the unit, allowing the operator to grill almost any food product from burgers to breakfast items, from steak to fish, and from grilled veg to toasted sandwiches. This makes the grill ideal for establishments with varied menus. Menu programmes can be updated using the easy to access USB port which allows the same menu to be programmed across multiple Garland XPress Grill across numerous locations.
Cleaning is both quick and easy due to the new single shaft platen lift assembly and angled backsplash, both of which enable easy access to the rear areas of the unit thus making cleaning of the entire grill a surprisingly smooth process. Additionally, the upper platens are Teflon wrapped so just a quick swipe with a squeegee is all that’s required after a day’s usage.
Designed with lasting reliability in mind, the 2nd generation XPress Grill is built with a new stronger chassis and fitted with longer life components for lower life cycle costs. Utilising the easyTouch touchscreen, managers and service engineers can access advanced diagnostics and error logging so that the opportunity for a first time fix is never missed and downtime is minimised. While the grill is fitted with new voltage sensing and power management components, all electrical parts are standardised to also improve the overall serviceability of the unit.
The latest from Manitowoc Foodservice in smart dual-surface grills, the Garland Xpress Grill will save operators money, time and space whilst improving quality and providing exceptional cooking results – every time and with ease.
